Bemina murders: investigation on, Imam taken for questioning: Police

SRINAGAR

To investigate the tragic Bemina, double murder incident police have taken the father of the butchered children into custody.

“Police investigation is on, father of the two deceased children and many others have been taken into custody for questioning,” police spokesman told Kashmir Life.

As reported earlier, unidentified assailant butchered two minor children of an Imam in Bemina area of the city and critically injured his wife on Wednesday morning.

The assailants barged into the house of Iftikhar Ahmad at Iqbalabad in Bemina while he was away in the local mosque to lead the pre-dawn prayers and slit open the throat of his wife, Naseema, and two children, Mohammad Hashim (two years) and Aalia (Three years) with a sharp-edged weapon, the police said.

The trio lying in a pool of blood, were rushed to hospital where the children were declared dead, while as Naseema was battling for life.
