Mehboob Jeelani, the staff writer of ‘The Caravan’ received the Ramnath Goenka Award for his reporting from J&K and the Northeast in print and Mufti Islah, from CCN IBN received the same award for his reporting from J&K and the Northeast in Broadcast on Tuesday.
Mehboob Jeelani has received the award for his piece ‘The Man Who Says No To New Delhi’, which is a detailed account of the senior most separatist leader, Syed Ali Geelani.
The sixth Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards were given to twenty-nine print and electronic journalists in 17 categories, selected by a 10-member jury. The awards that were handed over by Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam at a function held in New Delhi on Tuesday.
