A dead body of a civilian was recovered by the people near encounter site in Bidoora Achabal area of Anantnag district on Monday. The encounter at Bidoora begun on Monday early morning and ended up with the killing of one militant, a major rank army officer and three soldiers were injured.
Local sources said that soon after locals spotted a dead body of a civilian near an encounter site with bullet marks, a police party was informed and investigations were initiated in this regard. “His body has been taken for postmortem and other legal formalities,” official sources said.
The deceased person identified as Nasir Ahmed is said to be a local boy, a tractor driver by profession. “As soon as the news reached to people, a spontaneous shutdown is being observed in the entire Achabal belt,” a local resident told Kashmir Life.
Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the case and further investigations are going on.
Earlier, a militant and an army officer were killed in a day-long encounter in Bidoora area of Achabal on Monday.
