One among the two JeM militants slain in Waghoma gunfight is said to be the owner of the car used in Lethpora attack in February this year in which nearly 50 CRPF men were killed. The encounter at Waghoma village of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district begun on Tuesday early morning and two militants and an army man has been killed so far.

Two militants in affiliation with Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit were killed and one of the two militants is said to be Sajad Bhat, son of Mohammad Maqbool Bhat of Marhama. Bhat according to media reports, had joined Jaish-e-Mohammad’s Fidayeen squad days before the Lethpora attack that claimed the life of around 50 paratroopers and dozens were injured.

Meanwhile, the gunfight at Waghoma is underway.
