Bijbehara citizens council in collaboration with Jammu Kashmirs Coalition of Civil Societies (JKCCS) is organizing a seminar in memory of 43 civilians killed in BSF firing on October 22, 1993 in Bijbehara town of Islamabad district on Tuesday.
The seminar according to the statement will be held in Jamia Masjid , Baba Mohalla Bijbehara at 2:00 Pm.
“ People from different walks of life including writers, academicians, literates and journalists are expected to address the seminar,” the statement read.
According to statement, 43 civilians most of them in their teens fell to the bullets of the Border Security Force (BSF) persons in Chinar town of Bijbehara in South Kashmirs Islamabad district when they were part of a huge procession, protesting against the siege of the Dargah shrine by the army. More than 200 were injured among whom many were rendered physically handicapped forever.
