Independent legislator representing Udhampur constituency on Tuesday created ruckus in the Legislative Assembly over the the remarks of Chief Minister that ‘speaking against Article 370 is antinational.’

It is pertinent to mention here that Chief Minister while speaking during grants to the departments yesterday, said, “Article 370 represents the pluralistic ethos of the State and disturbing it would go not only against the interests of the State and but the country as well.”

“Those who will speak against it will be anti national,” she said.

However, Udampur MLA Pawan Gupta, raised banner in the floor of the house as the proceeding started on Monday.

“BJP should tell nation whether speaking against article 370 is antinational,” the banner read.

The banner also read,  “Whether, Shama Prasad Mukherjey and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadyaa were antinational. BJP PDP Govt should tender apology for such derogatory remarks of CM.”

Gupta came in the well of hose amid sloganeering that, “BJP owns an explanation to the nation.” He also said that, “It is ideological defeat of the BJP and  they should accept it.”

He demanded that the issue of Article 370 was raised by BJP during election and there should be discussion on it.

Pawan was later marshaled out on the directions of Speaker.

While reacting to what Gupta did, BJP MLA Ravender Rana said that, “Prime Minister  also said during elections that there should be debate on Article 370 whether it has benefited or not.”  “This is issue of BJP, but we don’t have absolute majority so we will work on  Agenda-of-alliance,” he said.

National Conference members supported the demand of discussion.
