Madhav is scheduled to arrive in Jammu on November 3 and will hold meetings with party leaders before addressing a press conference at 1 pm at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, J&K BJP chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi said.
His visit comes amid political developments within the ruling National Conference (NC), particularly following differences between sections of the party leadership and the recent expansion of the Jammu and Kashmir Council of Ministers.
The visit has also drawn attention because of Madhav’s previous role in Jammu and Kashmir politics. He was instrumental in facilitating the BJP-PDP coalition government in 2015 through the Agenda of Alliance, formulated in coordination with former PDP leader and Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu.
Madhav also served as the BJP’s election in-charge for the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. Earlier this year, he was appointed the party’s national vice-president as part of the organisational team led by BJP president Nitin Nabin.
His visit coincides with the political developments surrounding Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, who has announced his intention to resign from the National Conference and relinquish his Lok Sabha membership on November 3.
