SRINAGAR: BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur on Friday alleged that the ongoing tensions in Ladakh are being fuelled by foreign powers and the Congress party, describing the developments as part of a wider conspiracy to destabilise the region.
Thakur said Ladakh’s people are “peace-loving” and claimed that outside agencies were deliberately attempting to create discord. He further alleged that activist Sonam Wangchuk has eight of his nine bank accounts under scrutiny, with crores of rupees reportedly transferred from foreign countries. “Where the money came from and where it went is being investigated by the agencies,” he stated.
The BJP leader also accused the Congress party of playing a role in “creating turmoil” in Ladakh, though he did not provide specific evidence.
The remarks come at a time of heightened unrest in the region, with security agencies monitoring the situation closely amid growing political tensions.
