A mysterious blast went off in a police van near Hygam village in Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla killing a prisoner on spot.
Reports said that a police van was coming from Srinagar carrying a prisoner for hearing in Sopore Court.
“When the police van reached near Hygam village ahead of Sopore, a blast took off resulting in on-spot death of the prisoner and injuring 5 other police cops critically,” sources said.
They added that the injured cops have been shifted to Sub district hospital Sopore.
Meanwhile, official sources told Global News Service (GNS) that the blast took place near Hygam on Baramulla- Srinagar highway, leading to death of Wahid Noor Khan of Pakistan who was being shifted to central jail Srinagar from a local court in an ambulance.
“The blast took place inside the ambulance and whether it is a grenade or some other kind of blast is being ascertained,” they added.
