SRINAGAR: A fire broke out in one of the floodlight towers at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar late Wednesday night, officials said.
Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that soon after receiving information about the incident, men and machinery from the Fire and Emergency Services Department were rushed to the spot.
A team from Fire Station Gowkadal promptly responded and launched a firefighting operation, officials said.
The blaze was brought under control after hectic efforts, they added.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage were being ascertained.
