A bullet riddle body of a LeT militant was recovered in Yaripora, Kulgam, a police statement said on Friday.

Police Station Yaripora was informed by the locals of village Chinigam, Yaripora that a male body is lying in an open field at the village.

A police party rushed to the spot and recovered a bullet riddle body. The body was later identified as Zakir Syed Bhat of Sangus, Kulgam. “The deceased had joined the ranks of LeT and was active in the area,” police said.

Meanwhile, Handwara police and 47 RR busted a hideout in the forests of Sangri, Handwara last evening and recovered arms and ammunition from the hideout, the police statement said.

A joint search operation was launched by Handwara Police and 47 RR in Sangri Forests, Bomdinger Ucher area, in Handwara.

During search operation a hideout of militants was busted. During the search of the hideout 01 AK 47 rifle, 02 AK 47 Magazines 07 Pikka Rounds, 01 Pistol without magazine,01 Radio set,   UBGL Grenades,  and 02 Hand Grenades were recovered from the hide out.  02 UBGL and 02 Grenades were recovered.
