Police on Monday claimed to have recovered a body from a river near Teetwal area in Tanghdar sector in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A senior police official told GNS that a team of police recovered a body from the Kishanganga River Monday morning in Tweetwal area.
He identified the deceased as Mohammad Sidiq, son of Barkatullah, resident of Jora Banda Pakistan.
After conducting the postmortem and other formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to Pakistani authorities in Teetwal area of the frontier Kupwara district, the official said.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case under section 174 CrPc in Police Station Teetwal and has started further investigation in this regard.
