Body of the 60-year-old boatman who drowned while saving the three tourists from Jhelum was Monday fished out from Jhelum.
Ghulam Mohammad Guroo, a boatman from Rajbagh drowned while trying to save his tourists after his shikara capsized in Jhelum near Fateh Kadal foot bridge.
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening and since then, the rescuers were trying to retrieve his body.
One of the family members of Guroo said that the J&K chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti visited the family Monday to offer her condolences and termed the deceased boatman as “our hero”.
