A body has been recovered from the encounter site in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports quoted SP Pulwama, Rayees Muhammad Bhat, as having said that a militant died in the on-going encounter with forces, however, the identity of the deceased was not immediately established.
The encounter started Tuesday evening in Gudoora village of the district.
Meanwhile a CRPF trooper committed suicide by firing himself with his service rifle in Sanjichat area of Katra in Jammu and Kashmir.
He was identified as Head constable Harjinder Singh – a resident of Haryana – fired himself with his service rifle at Sanjichat area today.
