The third round of the mega musical talent hunt program organized by JK police is coming to the conclusion on Saturday, with a gala function at SKICC, Srinagar. Chief Minister, Omer Abdullah will be the Chief Guest on the occasion while Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah will be the Guest of Honor.
Musical bigwigs from Bollywood, Annu Malik, Sadhna Sargam and producer Ashok Thakeraia of blockbuster Dil, Mohabatain and Mann, will grace the event. Noted Kashmiri singer Waheed Jeelani will be among the panelists.
“It is after a long time that famous Bollywood musicians and top class performers are coming to Kashmir for such musical program, a police statement claimed.
Giving the details ADGP, Hqr, PHQ, Dr S P Vaid confirmed the participation of Annu Malik, Sadhna Sargam and Ashok Thakeraia, and said that the musical talent hunt competition “Choona Hai Aasman” is a flagship talent hunt program of JK Police that was started in the year in 2010-11 with the view to provide a platform and direction to the untapped talent of the youth of the state.
“The event has gained immense success and popularity among the budding youth since its inception,” he said adding that the previous Grande Finale’s were held in Jammu and this is the first time that this scintillating event will be hosted in the prestigious SKICC, Srinagar on the Dal banks.
“The participants across the state will compete in various categories during the finale, with this programme the talent hunt will come to its logical conclusion as the participants have competed first at District level, then at Range level and pen-ultimately at the Kashmir and Jammu zone levels,´ Dr. Vaid added.
The ADGP further added that the talent hunt program has brought excellent results and the winners of our state level competitions have competed at the National Level in the famous reality shows on satellite channels also. Miss Sonali Dogra participated in “Voice of Punjab” of PTC Punjabi Channel and stood overall 2nd Mr. Sumit Kumar, a finalist of “Choona Hai Aasman” season-1 was among the 16th finalists of Zee TV’s “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa- 2012”. Sumit Kumar alongwith Mudassar, also reached finals of the singing competition “Bharat Ki Shan” on DD National. Likewise Nikhil Kumar and Miss Priyanka, the winners of (2010-11) and (2011-12) “Choona Hai Aasman” contest in senior category of vocal reached the last 36 stage of Sony TV’s reality show “Indian Idol”.
He said that the police Headquarter is planning that the winners of 2011, 2012 and this year shall be put to training immediately after the event to prepare them for the reality shows on the national satellite channels. He further added that winners of last two years were immensely benefited by the training under the noted Bollywood musician Ismail Darbar. It was also informed that Sh. Ashok Thakeraia a noted film producer has agreed to give a break to the talented youth in his forth-coming film.
Director and Chief Coordinator of the event Israr Khan SSP Samba has informed that these Bollywood celebrities will reach tomorrow in the afternoon. He also said that the noted Kashmiri play back singer Waheed Jeelani will be among the penal of Judges. Police department has also planned to create audio CDs of the winners under the music Director Anand Milind to promote these youngsters.
