SRINAGAR: A suspicious explosive object was detected and destroyed in the Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning.
Officials said that a joint team of police and the Army’s local Rashtriya Rifles detected the object along the Baramulla–Handwara road.
A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately dispatched to the site, and traffic was temporarily halted to ensure public safety, they said.
The object was safely destroyed, and traffic movement was restored shortly after, the officials added. (KNO)
