Scores of Jammu and Kashmir Doctors from Safdar Jung and other hospitals Friday staged a twin protest at Jantar Mantar and 10 Janpath outside the Official residence of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi against the recently surfaced BOPEE CET paper leak and selling scam.
Holding Chief Minister Omar Abdullah directly responsible for the BOPEE Scam the doctors demanded his immediate removal and harsh punishment for former BOPEE chairman Mushtaq Ahmed Peer.
The Doctors alleged that extension was granted to Peer with the consent of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The J&K doctors presently working in different hospitals of New Delhi including Safdar Jung, Metro Heart and Hindu Rao Hospitals staged a peaceful sit-in in front of Sonia Gandhi’s 10 Janpath residence. They were carrying placards and banners seeking punishment for the guilty involved in CET scam and immediate removal of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The doctors also staged a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar describing BOPEE fraud a shame for the Jammu and Kashmir government. “This scam has tarnished the image of J&K doctors all over country and we demand stringent punishment be awarded to Mushtaq Peer,” Senior Resident Metro Heart Institute Dr Garav Sharma told CNS on phone from New Delhi.
Another Senior Resident from Safdar Jung Hospital Dr Khalid told CNS that at least 250 doctors from Jammu and Kashmir State working in different hospitals of New Delhi staged protest at 10 Janpath and urged upon UPA Chairperson to expose the big guns in involved in the scam. “We presented a memorandum to Sonia Gandhi in which we demanded action against the State Chief Minister for granting extension to Mushtaq Peer,” he said.
“Officials at 10 Janpath gave us a positive response and we hope Central Government will intervene into the matter so that tainted officials and students could be exposed and punished,” Dr Basharat from Rao Hindu Hospital said.
