SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that hospitals in border areas will be further strengthened and better equipped to respond to emergencies effectively.
During his visit to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar, the Chief Minister praised the courage and commitment of the doctors, nurses, and support staff who continued to serve despite being in the line of fire.
“They stood firm in the face of crisis, saving lives without thinking of their own. Their resilience is commendable and deeply appreciated,” Omar said.
Acknowledging the difficulties faced by healthcare workers in conflict-prone areas, Omar assured that facilities in vulnerable regions like Tangdhar would be upgraded. “We will ensure that border hospitals are equipped with improved facilities and emergency response infrastructure to handle future crises more effectively,” he said.
The Chief Minister also held a brief review meeting with the hospital administration to assess resource gaps and understand additional requirements that emerged during the recent escalation. (KNO)
