Boy Drowns in Bandipora; Fire Damages 3 Shops, 2 Houses

A boy drowned in a Nalla in Bandipora District while three shops and two residential houses were damaged in fire incidents, police said Monday evening.

A 10 years old boy Mohammad Faizan Wani son of Mohammad Iqbal resident of Bapora Sumlar drowned in a Nalla at Bapora Sumlar in District Bandipora.

The body of the boy has been fished out and handed over to his relatives for last rites.

Meanwhile, police said that three shops and two residential houses were damaged in fire in Kupwara and Kulgam.

In Kupwama, fire broke out at Regipora Bazar Kupwara in which 03 shops belonging to Hilal Ahmad Zargar, Ali Muhammad Dar and Rukidin Shah gutted completely.

In Kulgam, fire broke out in a joint residential house of Muhammad Shafi Koile and Mohammad Rafiq Koile sons of Mohammad Ibraheem Koile resident of Pachgam Nad Kund, resulting in complete damage to the house.

Meanwhile, fire broke out in the residential house of Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh son of Ghulam Ahmad resident of Sail Khana, D H Pora, Kulgam, resulting in compete damage to the house.

Fire tenders bought fire under control with the help of police and locals. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in these incidents.
