A 15 year old boy was killed in North Kashmir’s Pattan town of Baramulla district when an explosive substance went off on Wednesday morning.

Family sources told CNS that the youth was extracting something from the garbage when an explosive substance went off suddenly. “He lost his right hand on spot and we shifted him to SKIMS in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries,” one of the relatives of injured youth said.

They identified the boy as Parvez Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Ashraf Khan, a resident of Iqbal colony Pattan.

When contacted a police official said that Parvez was critically wounded after some explosive substance went off in his hand. “We have registered an FIR vide number 57/2015 under 7/27 arms act and investigation is going on,” he said.
