Police on Monday recovered the body of a 28-year old missing youth after seven days in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Parvez Ahmed son of Azad Hussain, a resident of Mangthala Thakrie in the district was missing after he left the home for going to meet his sister living in nearby village for extending Eid greetings, the local residents of the area told GNS.

They said that late in the evening when the Parvez neither reached her sister’s home nor returned back to his home, the family members approached the local police station and filed a complaint.

The local residents and the police had launched searches in several adjoining areas, they said.

“Today some locals found the dead of the Parvez Ahmad lying on rock bed on the bank of river Chenab near Kuntwara area some 25 Kilometers from Kishtwar,” they said.

As per the reports, the deceased might have fall from a hill cliff enroute to the home of his sister and died on the spot.

Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended in the area when the body of Parvaiz Ahmad reached to his village.
