SRINAGAR: Expressing satisfaction with the preparedness along the borders, Inspector General Border Security Forces, Kashmir, Ashok Yadav, on Friday said that they were ready to thwart any infiltration bid in anticipation of the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

Speaking to the media, Yadav  said, “We are prepared to tackle any infiltration attempt as a significant number of companies are deployed along the hinterland.”

“The security grid has been further strengthened in anticipation of the upcoming (Parliamentary) elections,” the officer added, stating, “There is always a possibility of increased infiltration attempts during important events.”

“We have conducted a vulnerability analysis considering the melting of snow, which relatively facilitates infiltration,” Yadav remarked.

Regarding deployment, Yadav mentioned that sixty-five companies have been dispatched to the Kashmir valley with the specific purpose of providing an additional layer of security in light of the elections. (KS)
