SRINAGAR: A Sub-Inspector of the Border Security Force (BSF) died while on duty along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, official sources said.
The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar from Hapur Uttar Pradesh, posted with the 61 Battalion of BSF, headquartered at Panjpeer in Rajouri.
The incident, the sources said took place in the village Mithidhara, falling under Police Post Chingus in Rajouri district.
“Preliminary information indicates that the death is suspected to be a case of suicide,” they said, adding “however, the exact cause will be confirmed after completion of medico-legal formalities and investigation.” (GNS)
