SRINAGAR: The Budgam administration has granted permission for the observance of the death anniversary of the father of Srinagar Lok Sabha MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi at Behishti Zehra (A.S.) Park on November 3, subject to a set of restrictions and security conditions.
An order issued by the Additional District Magistrate, Budgam, on Monday said the programme would be permitted from 10 am to 1 pm, with the gathering restricted to the designated venue.
The permission was granted after the office of the MP informed the district administration that a large public gathering was expected at the park to mark the occasion. The administration had subsequently sought a report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Budgam, who conveyed a no-objection to the programme on November 2, subject to certain conditions.
Under the conditions laid down in the order, no rally or procession will be allowed. The gathering must remain peaceful, and no unlawful or anti-national activity will be permitted during the programme.
The administration has also prohibited the display of banners, posters or other material associated with organisations deemed anti-national or inimical to the country’s interests.
The order further bars provocative speeches or activities, effigy burning and any display or act that could incite violence, hatred or communal disharmony.
The organisers have also been directed to ensure that the programme does not create any law and order situation or disrupt traffic movement.
The Additional District Magistrate has warned that any violation of the conditions could lead to cancellation of the permission and legal action under the relevant laws.
