SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have announced scheduled power shutdowns in parts of Baramulla and Budgam districts on July 30 and 31, 2025, to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure work.

According to the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL Kashmir, to facilitate the completion of pending work on the 220 KV Wagoora–Zainakote transmission line—including the installation of spherical balls, reconnection of jumpers, and charging of both circuits—power supply will remain affected in several areas of Budgam district. The affected areas include Char-i-Sharief, Chadoora, Nagam, Panzan, Wathoora, Bugam, Hafroo, Hayatpora, Yousmarg, Gogjipathri, Budgam, Ichgam, Choon, Kremshore, Khan Sahib, Brenwar, Kanir, Barwah, Hanjoora, SIDCO, Ompora, NIFT, Railway Station Budgam, Nasrullahpora, Sholipora, Watrihail, Charangam, Sebdan, Brinjin, Raithan, Surasyar, and adjoining localities. The shutdown will be in effect from 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM on July 30.
Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, has announced shutdowns in Baramulla district to allow the insertion of a pole at the PHE Drangbal site. The shutdown of the 33KV Baramulla-1st line will result in the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Baramulla-1st, Kanlibagh, and GMC Baramulla remaining off, affecting power supply to Kanlibagh, Baramulla main town, Noorbagh, Sangri, Ushkura, Rangwar, Khawajabagh (partially), Kantbagh, DC Office and residence Baramulla, Court Complex Baramulla, SSP Office, DIG Office North, and nearby areas.
In addition, the shutdown of the 33KV Baramulla-2nd line will impact the 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Baramulla-2nd, Bagh-i-Islam, Drangbal, and Sheeri. Power supply will be affected in Bagh-i-Islam, Drangbal, Sheeri, Old Town Baramulla, Khadniyar, SPC Sheeri, main Sheeri, Fatehgarh, Janbazpora, and adjoining areas. Both shutdowns in Baramulla will be observed from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM on July 31.
