The Deputy Commissioner of Budgam has convened a council meeting at 11:30 am on 7 April to deliberate on the motion.

According to a notice, the move follows a directive from the High Court instructing authorities to address the no-confidence motion against the DDC chairperson.

In the 2024 Assembly elections, several DDC members, including Khan, contested but failed to secure victories. Some, such as the DDC chairperson of Baramulla, even forfeited their deposits. However, three DDC members—Irfan Hafiz Lone, Mehraj Malik, and Waheed-ur-Rehman Para—emerged victorious in the polls. (KNO)
