SRINAGAR: A 68-year-old pilgrim from Bihar died after suffering suspected cardiac arrest in Poonch district during the intervening night of August 20 and 21, officials said on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Dinesh Parsad, son of Ram Brij Parsad, a resident of Belaganj in Gaya, Bihar. He was staying at the Akhara Temple Poonch lodgement centre when he complained of chest discomfort, officials said.
He was taken to District Hospital Poonch at around 12:15 am, where doctors attended to him. However, he was declared dead at approximately 12:40 am, officials said.
The cause of death was recorded as cardiac arrest.
The body has been kept in the hospital mortuary, while further proceedings are under way.
