DHSK Blood Camp on July 12

Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir (DHSK) has been organising blood donation camps across valley on routine basis in peripheral hospitals.

In this context, five blood donation camps have been conducted till date in last three days.

Kashmir is witnessing renewed phase of unrest with 33 civilians shot dead by forces in last three days. The fresh blood shed was triggered after militant commander Burhan Wani was killed by forces in South Kashmir’s Kokernag area last Friday evening.

The blood donation camps have been organised at District Hospital Islamabad, sub-district Hospital Sopore, sub-district Hospital Chadoora, District Hospital Baramulla and District Hospital Handwara, a statement issued by DHSK said this afternoon.

A total of 225 blood pints have been collected till date and by evening we are hopeful that it will cross 250 mark as the camps are still running at some health institutes.

Moreover, volunteers are donating blood at various peripheral hospitals on routine basis.

Staff of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir is also participating in these camps.

Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman has directed hospital administrators concerned that the hospitals wherever there is less burden of trauma patients the blood pints should be sent to tertiary care hospitals so that patients are benefited who are in dire need.
