The J&K Government on Monday said that CM met with Civil Society last day.

Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry(KCC&I) Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of more than 30 civilians and  injuries to hundreds of innocent children, men, women, sick and patients by police and forces post killing of militant commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

“In a meeting convened by the Chief Minister, Ms Mehbooba Mufti, on Monday, 11th of July, 2016, the issues relating to the abdication of the authority, shoot to kill innocent people by trigger happy forces, indiscriminate and brute use of fire power, firing of smoke gas inside the SMHS hospital, merciless beating of medical staff, patients & attendants, smashing of ambulances and patient ferrying vehicles, indefensible justification of police and forces action of targeting above waistline causing irreversible damage to eyesight & other  sensitive organs, use of pellet guns (were discussed),” a tele-statement issued by KCC&I said this evening.

“The Chief Minister was reminded about her days as an opposition leader when she would visit the slain militants’ families but today she was totally absent from the scene as a Chief Minister,” the statement said.

The chamber took strong exception to Police version of justifying their act of indiscriminate firing on the protesting people. It was impressed upon her that Government should provide specialised treatment to those injured people who had received serious injuries in the police firing.
