Six more civilians were injured after forces opened fire in South Kashmir’s Kulgam.

Reports reaching here said that forces opened fire in Aakhran, Kelam and Mirbazar villages of Kulgam district Sunday afternoon.

The locals of these youth were holding protest demonstrations against the killing of militant commander, Burhan Wani.

“Forces fired upon demonstrators during clashes, in which six people sustained bullet injuries,” a newspaper report said. All the injured have been shifted to Islamabad hospital for treatment.

Reports reaching from Budgam said that two youths sustained bullet injuries after CRPF men fired on a crowd that attacked their camp in Hardapanzoo village. “A huge crowd attacked the CRPF 117 Bn camp at Hardapanzoo with stones and set ablaze two forward posts by hurling petrol bombs.”

Meanwhile, reports from Srinagar’s Barzulla area said that stone pelting and tear gas shelling is going on in the area.

“There has been no letup in protests since Friday evening when the news of Burhan’s death reached the area,” a local from the area said. “Stone pelting and tear gas shelling is going on and it continues till late in the evening.”
