After day’s calm, reports are reaching here that a youth has been shot dead in North Kashmir on Tuesday.

Kashmir is witnessing bloodshed since militant commander, Burhan Wani, was killed by forces in Kokernag area of South Kashmir on last Friday evening.

However, reports are coming that the slain youth was identified as Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh from Singdan Kupwara. He was bit by a bullet. The protestors, of which Zahoor was a part, tried to attack Police Station Kralpora, police said.

At least 34 civilians and an SPO has been killed and over a thousand others injured by bullets and pellets by forces since Saturday morning. Majority of the casualties have been reported in South Kashmir while one youth was killed near his home in Tengpora area of Srinagar.

With the fresh killing in Kralpora area of Kupwara, North Kashmir has reported its first killing in the current spate of bloodshed.

Reports reaching here said that the authorities have snapped hone network in the region with only BSNL network working.

Government clamped down on mobile phone internet across Kashmir since last week end while mobile phone network stands completely shut in South. Train services too have been completely suspended amid violence spread across South Kashmir towns.

Meanwhile, forces personnel fired numerous teargas shells and resorted to baton charge to disperse the protesters who tried marching towards a paramilitary CRPF camp at Hardupanzoo near Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, reports said.

POST SCRIPT: There was a cry that one more youth was killed and he belonged to Sopore but the news is not true.

The serious problem in communication has put news desks in press colony to a tough job. And the communication gap has led to rumour mongering.
