State Cabinet, which was scheduled to meet here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Wednesday morning has been postponed for some days, sources told KNS.

They said the Cabinet was scheduled to order transfers and postings in civil administration and police, besides clearing the routine administrative agenda.

Sources told KNS that the cabinet meeting which was scheduled to meet at 11 am on Wednesday, could now likely meet later this week during which the transfers and postings in civil administration and police will be on top of the agenda.

A senior minister told KNS that the transfers in the civil administration and police are on the agenda in the meeting. “The Cabinet will discuss various issues including the reshuffle in the civil and police administration,” the minister said.

Sources told KNS that Cabinet meeting later this week is also likely to order transfers of few Commissioner Secretaries. “The Commissioner Secretary, GAD Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari is likely to be transferred and will be replaced by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Gazanfar Hussain. Secretary Transport, Bashir Ahmad Khan is also likely to be transferred and will be posted in the IMPA,” they said and added several head of departments are also likely to be transferred.

In Police Department, sources said that reshuffle will be up to the level of District SPs. “The Cabinet meeting may transfer police officers upto the level of SPs besides some senior police officers may be elevated to higher levels,” sources said and added that the transfers in Police Department were scheduled to be ordered during the last Cabinet meeting but agenda in this regard was deferred.

Sources also said that cabinet is also likely to order adjustment of IAS officers who were attached with civil secretariat the government.
