The Cabinet which met Monday under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed accorded sanction to the creation of 21 posts of faculty members for Government Medical College, Jammu and Government Medical College, Srinagar.
The posts have been created to address the shortage of faculty in these Hospitals. These include one post each of Professor and Associate Professor in Gynae & Obstetrics department, two posts each of Professor and Associate Professor in Orthopedics department, one post of Professor in Anesthesia, one post of Professor in Ophthalmology, one post of Professor Physiology department and one post of Associate Professor each in Pharmacology and Surgery department in GMC, Jammu.
Similarly, in GMC, Srinagar, the faculty posts created include three posts of Professors and two posts of Associate Professors in Gynae & Obstetrics, two posts of Professors in Pediatrics and one post of Associate Professor in Pharmacology and two posts of Associate Professors in Surgery Departments.
