Based on specific intelligence regarding movement of a group of terrorist in Haphruda forest a joint search operation was launched by Army and JKP on 05 May 2014, which continued till today, resulting into recovery of cache of large quantity of arms and ammunition,  a defence statement said.

“On 05 May 2014, a joint operation was launched to track a group on militants, learnt to have been operating in Haphruda forests of district Kupwara.  The operation continued for three days. Around 1130 h, today Security Forces unearthed a cache of arms and ammunition along with other war likes stores, which included one pistol, 03 magazines, 12 Chinese grenades, two bino, two compass, 03 rounds of RPG, 02 60mm Bombs, one Wireless set and other administrative stores,” it said.
