Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad inaugurated a Day long Open Air – Photography, Art, Poetry and Calligraphy Exhibition with the theme, “Muharram”.

The event was organised by a group of students in collaboration with Department of student’s welfare and was supervised by the Dean Students Welfare, University of Kashmir, Prof. Neelofer Khan and Assistant Dean Showkat Shafi.

The exhibition included the works of the students of different institutions and the guest artists of Kashmir under the theme Muharram. The exhibition was a humble tribute to Imam Hussian (AS) and the Martyrs of Karbala.

Almost 26 Participants through their 90 works of art gave in-depth dimensions on the theme of Muharram.

In addition to the young and budding student artists, calligraphers and photographers held a exhibition which included the works of famous artists of Kashmir, Masood Hussain, Mir Mubashir, Naseem Gulzar, Sameer Hussian and Syed Ilyaas Rizvi. The exhibition had a wide range of response from the students and the faculty members of the university. Most of the university people who visited the exhibition appreciated the event. The large number of visitors included the art lovers from different areas who loved the exhibition in general and “the open air venue” of library lawns in particular.

Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, Prof Talat Ahmad appreciated the students and artists for their effort and “well represented art talent”.
