CA&PD Employee Injured by Police Van on July 11 Succumbs

SRINAGAR

A Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) official who was injured after police vehicle hit him at Rohama area of Baramulla in North Kashmir on July 11, Monday succumbed to injuries.

A police official told Global News Service (GNS) the government employee Abdul Rashid Dar son of Mohammad Rajab of Shultu village, in Rohama area of the district had received serious injuries after a police van hit him in the area. He was instantly shifted to the district hospital, Baramulla for treatment. However, the doctors there had referred him to SKIMS, Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Today morning, the injured Dar succumbed to injuries, the official said.

Pertinently, the incident had triggered strong anti-police protests in the area and the angry protesters had torched the police vehicle.
