Locals from Sonwar Srinagar informed that on Thursday noon, some officials from Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) raided the Hotel Shangrila and seized illegal domestic LPG cylinders. As the officials started loading the cylinders into the vehicle carrying a number plate, JK01G 4190, the hotel management called the enforcement wing inside.
“The officials were served Kabab Tea,” an eyewitness told the Kashmir Life. “After sometime, the officials left the spot without taking the seized cylinders along with themselves.”
The enforcement officer of CA&PD, Mubashir Ahmad expressed his ignorance about the incident when contacted, but quickly added: “Our team must have fined the hotel management for the same.”
But eyewitnesses expressed their surprise over the quick change in action on part of CA&PD officials soon after they were taken in!
