Police on Sunday registered a case against BJP candidate for Shopian assembly segment Javed Qadri for slapping Mushtaq Ahmad Mir inside a polling station.
Sources said that FIR number 69/2014 stands registered against Qadri in Police station Keller in Shopian district.
“Mir, a polling agent of independent candidate Shabir Ahmad Kullay was slapped by Qadri after which the case was registered against him under sections of 392,323,139 and132B,” sources added.
Meanwhile polling was going on smoothly in all the booths of district Shopian.
