Srinagar

Government forces on Wednesday launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in two separate villages of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Reports said that a joint team of army’s 34 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Meemandar and Losedenow villages of Shopian.

“All entry and exit points of the villages have been sealed and door to door searches are going on,” sources said.

However, it was not immediately known if the searches were launched on the basis of inputs about the militants or a daily routine exercise.

More details are awaited.
