While addressing media persons, JKCDF President Sajad Ahmad Parray said that daily wagers and casual labourers have been humiliated by the government in its budget, presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Legislative Assembly.

He said this was also an insult to the Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), who had made tall claims during their election campaigns.

“The Chief Minister should be questioned about why the election manifesto has not been followed and why the promises made to casual labourers and daily wagers remain unfulfilled,” Parray said. He added, “We do not support any party, but we expected the government to honour the commitments it made.”

“To protest against this humiliation and to press for our demands, JKCDF has decided to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence on March 10. A large number of employees will participate in this protest,” he said, urging employees to join the programme. (KNO)
