The much publicized writ petition filed by Prof SK Bhalla seeking initiation of disciplinary proceedings and withdrawal of security cover from Kewal Krishan Sharma the then Additional PRO to then Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and also highlighting accumulation of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income Tuesday took a new turn when Kewal Krishan Sharma filed an Application in the State High Court seeking CBI probe into his allegations levelled against Former Deputy Chief Minister and his associates and also restoration of security cover which has been withdrawn during the pendency of the writ petition.
In the miscellaneous application filed in person by Kewal Krishan Sharma it is alleged that he has been working as Additional PRO with former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and he is a material witness to the crimes committed by Former Deputy Chief Minister and when the former Deputy Chief Minister came to know that he is having the knowledge of such criminal acts he tried to persuade him not to speak against him. The applicant did not succumb to the persuasion of former Deputy CM and held a press conference wherein he highlighted the criminal acts of former Deputy CM including the commission of offence of corruption and his other criminal acts. At the time of holding press conference he was having security in the capacity of Additional PRO to Deputy CM and prior to holding of press conference the applicant had submitted his resignation as Additional PRO to his parent Department and also to the then Deputy Chief Minister but the then Dy CM with malafide and motivated intentions did not accept the resignation of the applicant and forced him to work with him. Faced with such a situation and in view of the revelations made by him the threats to the applicant gained more potential and the applicant was constantly extended threats from criminals and two senior police officers having close relation with former Deputy CM. Frightened by the threats, the wife of the applicant made a complaint against the former Deputy CM for threatening applicant and his family members before Police Post Pouni Chak in the year 2013 and thereafter the applicant’s security was enhanced.
In the application it is further highlighted that upon filing of the writ petition by Prof SK Bhalla notices were issued by the State High Court and there was no direction to any of the functionaries of the State to withdraw the security provided to the applicant yet the IGP Jammu withdrew the security provided to the applicant telling the applicant that there is such direction passed by the High Court and after the withdrawal of the security cover the applicant is again facing the threats and attack upon him by criminals.
It is further alleged in the application that three unknown criminals trespassed the house of the applicant wielding sharp edged weapons and attacked the applicant’s son as the applicant was not present in the house. However the son of the applicant was rescued and criminals escaped. The applicant made a complaint before the Police Station Domana complaining the aforesaid facts. The said occurrence has also been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the house of the applicant. The said footage has also been handed over to the then Incharge Police Station Domana. The police apprehended the said three persons upon their identification and they also confessed before the Police that they were engaged to kill the applicant and his son. They have been booked by the Police Station, Domana and are enlarged on bail.
In the application Kewal Krishan Sharma has further alleged that despite his complaints against the former Deputy CM no action has been taken by the State Police in view of the influence of the former Deputy CM and till date no enquiry has been conducted into his allegations. The applicant has prayed that directions be issued to the CBI to enquire/investigate the allegations levelled by him against the former Deputy CM and his associates as only CBI can investigate as the allegations are against the influential political leader and senior police officers and the State Police is likely to become prejudicial in holding fair investigation.
Kewal Krishan Sharma who had earlier appeared in person had created sensation in the court of Justice Tashi Rabstan when he had levelled serious allegations against the then Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and two senior cops and alleged threat to his life. He had openly stated that there is threat to his life and he requested the Court to restore his security as he apprehends elimination from the goons of ex Dy CM. He further submitted that he stands by his allegations of murder, rape and corruption levelled against the then Deputy CM and denied the reply filed by him wherein he has stated that he has no threat from Ex-Deputy CM and has alleged threat from militants and criminals and stated that the so called denial attributed to him was under pressure of the then Deputy CM and the Police. KK Sharma further submitted that the said reply was not as per his instructions.
After hearing KK Sharma in person, Justice Tashi Rabstan had directed him in the open court to file his allegations in black and white before next date of hearing and today Kewal Krishan Sharma appeared in person in the Registry and filed a miscellaneous petition seeking CBI probe into his allegations against former Deputy CM and restoration of security cover in his favour.
