SRINAGAR: The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Tuesday has produced challan against six accused for establishing fake examination centres for class 12th in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The Economic Offence Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir produced the Challan in Case FIR No. 65/2005 U/S 420, 467, 468, 471,201,120-B RPC of Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir against Ghulam Nabi Mir son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din a resident Radnag Kupwara (Beneficiary), Abdul Khaliq Dar S/O Haji Mohammad Ramzan Dar R/O Khan Shaib Budgam then the Senior Assistant BOSE, late Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh S/O Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh R/O Wanigam Pattan then Jr.Asstt. BOSE Kupwara, late Mohammad Ashraf Khan S/O Ghulam Qadir Khan R/O Baghi-Nundsingh Srinagar then Head Assistant BOSE Kupwara, Ali Mohammad Badyari Retired Assistant Secretary J&K BOSE Kupwara S/O Abdul Aziz R/O Shah-i-HamdanColony,Natipora,NaiK-Bagh Srinagar, late Mohammad Abdulllah Sofi then Principal Govt Higher Secondary School,  Sogam   Kupwara, S/O Mohammad Sultan Sofi R/O Batargam Kupwara before the Court of Additional   Special Mobile Magistrate Kralpora Kupwara,” a statement here issued by the Crime Branch said.

“The instant case had been registered upon an information received through reliable sources to the effect that the officers/officials of Education Department, District Kupwara, in league with officials of J&K BOSE Sub-office Kupwara, are indulging in establishing examination  centers for Class 12th examination, after preparing fake and forged documents so as  to enable undeserving candidates to appear in the examination and have allowed Arts candidates to appear in Science subjects, thereby managed their success with high percentage of marks,” the statement said.

“On the basis of said certificates they have not only obtained admissions in professional colleges, but have also secured appointments in various Government Departments etc,” it added.

“Subsequently an enquiry was ordered to be conducted into the matter which culminated into registration of case FIR No 65/2005 of Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir (Now Economic Offences Wing),” it further added.

“During the course of Investigation, as per evidence, both oral as well as documentary, i.e records seized during the course of investigation, statement of witnesses recorded and other corroborative evidence established, the commission of offences under section 420, 467, 468, 471, 201, 120-B RPC against the accused persons and accordingly Challan has been produced before the Hon’ble Court of Additional   Special Mobile Magistrate Kralpora Kupwara,” a statement here issued by the Crime Branch said.
