SRINAGAR: A leopard was spotted in the residential area of the Janbazpora locality in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, creating panic among residents. A CCTV camera caught the wild cat wandering around the neighborhood.
Soon after spotting the leopard, locals informed the authorities concerned, following which a search operation was launched.
Quoting an official, KNO reported that as soon as they got the information, teams were rushed to the spot to locate the animal. “The operation was jointly launched by Wildlife and Forest department and their priority was to ensure the safety of residents. If the animal is not traced, the search operation will be called off and resumed with the first light of the day.”
The authorities have also advised residents to exercise caution and avoid venturing outside during night hours.
