The action was taken under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, a police spokesperson said. Dar is the son of Mohammad Ismail Dar.

The property attachment is linked to a case registered under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act at Charar-i-Shareif Police Station. According to police, the case concerns offences related to the illegal possession, transportation and trafficking of narcotic substances.

Police said the action was part of its continuing campaign against drug-related activities and the financial networks associated with narcotics.

Under the law, Dar has been barred from selling, transferring, leasing, mortgaging or otherwise creating any third-party interest in the attached property without permission from the competent authority, the spokesperson said.
