SRINAGAR: The Centre has allocated Jammu and Kashmir as the segment of posting for two 2024-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the Joint AGMUT cadre after they completed their prescribed Phase-II training, according to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday.
The officers are Gaurav Yadav and Seerat Baji. Their allocation to Jammu and Kashmir was notified through MHA order No. 14016/12/2025-UTS.I dated August 4, 2026, issued following completion of their IAS Phase-II training.
The allocation covers 10 IAS officers of the 2024 AGMUT batch across different segments of the joint cadre. Besides the two officers assigned to Jammu and Kashmir, two officers each have been allocated Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while one officer each has been assigned Puducherry and Mizoram.
Yadav, a 2024-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre from Haryana, secured All India Rank 234 in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2023. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Political Science.
Prior to the latest segment allocation, Yadav was serving as Sub-Divisional Commissioner at Champhai in Mizoram. He took charge of the post on May 6, 2025.
Baji, also belonging to the 2024 AGMUT batch, hails from Kanthol village in the Kotranka subdivision of Rajouri district. She secured All India Rank 516 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 and was subsequently allocated the AGMUT cadre.
She holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English. Before joining the IAS, Baji had qualified for the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service and was serving as a Deputy Superintendent of Police probationer. She had also qualified the National Eligibility Test-Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF).
After entering the IAS, Baji underwent the prescribed training and field exposure as a probationer. Earlier in 2026, she served as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Power in New Delhi before being assigned to Jammu and Kashmir for field administrative training.
The latest MHA order formally places both officers in the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the Joint AGMUT cadre following completion of their Phase-II training.
The AGMUT cadre comprises Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and the Union Territories, with officers allocated to its constituent segments during their service. The latest order accordingly assigns Yadav and Baji to the Jammu and Kashmir segment of the joint cadre.
