All the union government sanctioned water supply schemes are facing 70 percent cut of funds, government said on Tuesday.

This was stated in a written reply by the government in the legislative assembly over a question raised by MLA Banihal Vikar Rasool Wani.

From the year 2015 – 16 there has been a drastic cut in the NRDWP allocations at the GOI level, the documents reveal.

During the year 2015-16 only Rs 188.40 Cr were allocated for the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the document states, against the previous year’s allocation of Rs 474 Cr.

However, as per the documents, during the current financial year, the allocation has been enhanced to Rs 227.50 Cr.

Besides, during the current financial year the state share allocation has also been enhanced to Rs 54.25 Cr against Rs 6.50 Cr during 2015-16, government informed the house.
