To start the rural electrification “on war footing” under Deen Dayal Upadhaya Gramin Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY) , an amount of Rs 619.67 Cr has been sanctioned for the 21 districts of the state for the creation of infrastructure in power distribution system.

In a written reply in the ongoing budget session in JK Legislative Assembly, the government said, “The amount of Rs 61.73 Cr has been spent in the Kupwara District while Rs 12.82 Cr has been sanctioned to Doda.

The amount sanctioned in Islamabad district is 26. 30 Cr, Budgam 27.35 Cr, Bandipora 44.71 Cr, Baramulla 37.26 Cr, Ganderbal 23.93 Cr, Jammu 32.41 Cr, Kathua 28.57 Cr, Kishtiwar 26.95 Cr, Kulgam 21.78 Cr, Leh 48.47, Pulwama 29.20 Cr, Poonch 29.41 Cr, Ramban 13.39 Cr, Reasi 27.41, Samba 18.14, Shopian 19.56 Cr and Udhampur 14.89Cr, while Rs 3.08 Crores have been spent on PMA charges.

“The tenders for the execution of the works have already been floated and shall be put to execution after completion of bidding process and awarding of the contracts,” the reply stated.
