Talking of the various political on goings at various levels related to the Kashmir issue, Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah on Thursday said that pressure is building on India to resolve the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah held these views while addressing the party workers who had come from Srinagar, Islamabad, Pulwama, Baramullah, Ganderbal, Budgam, Shopian and Kulgam ditricts. “Due to the continuous resistance movement of Kashmiri’s India is feeling the heat from the international community to resolve the Kashmir issue, but to negate that pressure India is trying to hold talks separately with Pakistan and Separatist leadership of the valley. They are continuing their stubborn approach,” Hurriyat leader said.

Shah said that the talks between India and Pakistan in the past failed because of the fact that the Principal party to the dispute (separatist leadership) was not involved in those talks. “The dialogue between Srinagar and Delhi also failed because Pakistan was not involved in those talks,” he said. Stressing that there are two ways to solve the Kashmir issue, either the implementation of the United Nation resolutions or through tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and separatist leadership of the valley but that dialogue has to be meaningful and result oriented. “There is no third option to solve the Kashmir issue,” he added.

“People who are beating the drums of Azadi but are negating the core issues of Azadi should recourse their path. They should take their own path. People are conscious and very much enthusiastic about the freedom and the struggle will continue till the issue is resolved as per the aspirations of the martyrs and the people of the valley,” DFP Chairman said.

Hailing the support from Pakistan, Shah said that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is in the better interest of the whole Muslim community particularly Kashmir. “Pakistan is the only country that is propagating the cause of Kashmiri’s at diplomatic, Political, and foreign levels,” he said. Shah said that India has adopted double standards towards the resolution of the Kashmir issue but that won’t work. “Talks and black laws, dialogue and the forces and their oppression, talks and arrests and detention, will not go hand in hand. On the one hand they are talking of the dialogue but on the other side they are trying to suppress the political opponents,” separatist leader said. “By doing this it is like walking in two opposite direction which will bear no fruit.” Shah also expressed concern over the condition of the political prisoners of the valley.

Paying glowing tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Bhat, Shah reiterated the stand of the Kashmiri nation that the mortal remains of Bhat should be handed over to his parents in Srinagar. He once again appealed to the United Nations to press the GOI to accept the decision of Kashmiri’s. DFP chairman said that the Kashmiri Nation from the last 65 years have offered lakhs of sacrifices and the separatist leadership is the guardian of these sacrifices. Nobody will be allowed to ignore the sacrifices of the lakhs of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Shah while giving a call for unity among the separatist leadership said, “To get freedom from the occupational forces of India it is important that we should get united.” At the end of the meeting Chairman asked the party workers to reach out to the people and share their joys and sorrows. “The party workers should stress upon the people that freedom party is for the solution of their problems and the solution lies in the party’s strength,” he said.
