Dozens of students at Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) early Tuesday morning held protests against the institute administration what they called ‘anti-Kashmir attitude’. The protesting students later reached Press Enclave to press for their demands.

Pertinently, three Kashmiri students were rusticated from Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) on Monday after a scuffle between two groups of students.

Reports had said that there was minor scuffle between Kashmiri and non Kashmiri students in the institute following which principal of IHM rusticated three of Kashmiri students.

The students raised slogans demanding transfer of their principal and calling back of rusticated students and ‘action’ against the ‘real culprits’.

“When the principal is changed and rusticated students are called back only then we shall join our exams,” the students demanded.

Incidentally, the students had to appear in their semester exams from today.

The students said that the non Kashmiri students are appearing in the exams but Kashmiris are on strike. “How can exams happen when most of the students are on strike and their demands genuine,” a student said.
