Due to incessant rains since last few days, Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road has been blocked due to landslides that struck the road last Monday evening, sources said on Tuesday.

Sources informed Kashmir Life that though the Beacon and Army personnel had started restoration process early Tuesday but the continuous rainfall is hampering their work.

“Late Monday evening landslides struck the road which blocked movement on it but the restoration of the service is going on,” they said.

They said that the road is blocked at two places viz Mohra and near N S Bridge.

Meanwhile, the locals of Tilawari area of Uri alleged that the promises made by local administration proved wrong as no temporary bridge was established in the area making them suffer particularly student fraternity.

Pertinently, Tilawari village had got disconnected with rest of the Uri due to collapse of bridge that connected it.
